Memorial Day run

Katlyn ran a 5k in 38:39 and came in 6th in her age bracket. I am so proud of her. She did great for not having done any training yet.


Parker ran the kids mile. He has been wanting to run in a race since the run/walk we did for Boston. He was so excited. He did great and was so proud of his medal. It now has a prominent place on his bedroom wall. I am proud of him for running.


Uncle David ran the 1/2 marathon (13.1 miles). He took 3rd place in his age bracket. Kadence and Shelby also ran the kids mile and completed it together.

Proud of all of you for running.

Ballroom Dance

Kalli had a ballroom dance performance. She has been taking ballroom dance since the beginning of school and has quite enjoyed it. It has been fun as parents to watch her talent and enthusiasm for ballroom blossom.

 

"Let's paint"

We were scheduled to get new carpet tomorrow. I came home from work and decided (at 6:30 pm) that we should paint the family room. We hadn't picked out a color or even talked about it.

Aaron and I ran to RC Willey to get our carpet sample, then on to buy paint. We bought all of the stuff and then came home to get to work. We got it all taped off and ready to go. Everyone pitched in and we finished around midnight.

Everyone thought the color I chose would be too dark, but it turned out great and I love it. Kylah calls it the new "Chocolate room"

5K fundraiser walk for the victims of Boston Marathon

We are one Boston . . . We are one Community

3 people died and many more were injured including many who lost limbs in a senseless bombing at the Boston Marathon on 4/15/13.  Striders running store in Layton, UT put together a 5K to raise money for the victims of this tragic event. The girls ran most of the way. Parker walked, complained his legs were jello (in the first block) and then asked to run. I would let him run ahead and then walk until we caught up. He didn't complain once while running. Kylah and I walked with Leanne, Kadence and Shelby. David ran and finished in approximately 26 minutes.

Kalli graduates from "Dare"

Another sign that my daughter is growing up. She graduated from the "Dare", anti-drug and bullying program, at school today. So proud of the commitment she has made to not use drugs or alcohol.

We had a great time. Parker was so fun. He knew when he saw the rainbow and gold coins that the "trick leprechaun" was up to something. We had green milk. While we were at church the silly leprechaun blocked all the kids bedrooms and turned all the kitchen chairs upside down.
